Information we collect
Information you give us
If you send an enquiry, we collect the name, email address, phone number and project details you provide. We also retain correspondence needed to answer or manage your enquiry.
Technical and security information
Our hosting and security systems may record limited technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, date and time, and security events. This is used to deliver the site, investigate faults and protect it from abuse.
Privacy preferences
We store your privacy settings in an essential first-party cookie. The cookie records that optional analytics and advertising categories remain off and whether a Global Privacy Control signal was honoured. It does not contain your name, email address or contact-form details.
How and why we use information
| Purpose | Information | UK GDPR lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Reply to enquiries and discuss requested services | Contact and project details; correspondence | Steps at your request before a contract, performance of a contract, and our legitimate interests in responding to customers |
| Operate, troubleshoot and secure the website | Technical logs, security events and reCAPTCHA results | Our legitimate interests in providing a reliable service and preventing fraud and spam |
| Remember your privacy choices | Privacy preference cookie and Global Privacy Control status | Our legal obligations and legitimate interests; optional technologies would rely on consent |
| Meet legal and regulatory duties or establish legal claims | Relevant contact, transaction and security records | Legal obligation and legitimate interests |
Cookies and privacy choices
The site currently has no analytics tags, advertising pixels or social-media login. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
You can review or change your settings here:
| Technology | Provider and purpose | Duration | Category |

SK Energy — remembers that optional categories are off and whether Global Privacy Control was honoured | 180 days | Necessary |
_GRECAPTCHA and reCAPTCHA browser storage |
Google — assesses contact-form submissions for spam and abuse. It is loaded only when you choose to send the contact form. | The cookie may last up to 180 days; browser storage may remain until cleared | Necessary security |
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we automatically keep optional categories off. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, although deleting the preference cookie means we will need to ask for your choice again.
Google reCAPTCHA
When you submit the contact form, we load Google reCAPTCHA to distinguish genuine enquiries from automated abuse. Google may receive your IP address, browser and device information, the page address and interaction data, and may set or read the technologies listed above. Google acts under its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
reCAPTCHA produces a risk score which may cause a suspicious submission to be rejected. This is a security decision and does not have a legal or similarly significant effect. If a genuine enquiry is rejected, contact us by email and we will assist you.
Other service providers
We use suppliers where necessary to host and secure the website, deliver email, and provide website fonts and code libraries. These suppliers may process limited technical data or enquiry information on our instructions. Public website assets may be delivered by Google Fonts, cdnjs, jsDelivr or the jQuery CDN, which will receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address and browser details.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to professional advisers, or in connection with the establishment or defence of legal claims. We do not provide contact enquiries to data brokers.
International processing
Google and the content-delivery providers named above operate internationally, so limited technical information may be processed outside the United Kingdom. Their privacy notices describe their processing locations and transfer arrangements. Contact us if you would like further information about the safeguards relevant to your information.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and correspondence records only for as long as needed to respond, provide services, meet legal or accounting requirements, and handle disputes. Security logs are kept for a limited operational period appropriate to investigation and protection needs. The privacy preference cookie expires after 180 days unless you replace or delete it sooner.
How we protect information
We use access controls, encrypted connections, restricted administrative systems, security monitoring and other technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information and risks involved. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Our services and this website are intended for adults and businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and, where appropriate, delete it.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to:
- ask for a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase or restrict information;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent.
These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply. To exercise a right, email customerservice@sk-energy.co.uk. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or legal obligations change. We will post the revised version here and change the “last updated” date.
